Join the next postgraduate certificate (PGCert) accredited programme to develop your skills to be a more effective coach or mentor. Starting April 2023, this Level 7 accredited course in coaching and mentoring for leadership in organisations offers a path, via a postgraduate diploma (PGDip), to a full masters qualification.<\/p>\n

Weekly 90\u2013minute<\/strong>\u00a0sessions at 2pm (UK) over 11 months comprising three modules totalling 66 hours contact time. There are two 3\u2013hour<\/strong> kick-off sessions, two 3\u2013hour<\/strong> practice sessions in each module, plus breaks for summer and Christmas\/New Year.<\/p>\n Each module requires additional self-study throughout and submission of a 6000 word assignment.<\/p>\n Professor Bob Garvey<\/a> and Auriel Majumdar<\/a> will\u00a0co-host each module\u2019s kick-off, with other sessions shared and presented individually. By consensus, session timings<\/a> can be altered to suit changing circumstances, or indeed the mix of US west-coast or Asia-Pacific region students, on a first-come-first-served basis.<\/p>\n Bob and Auriel will introduce you to a variety of concepts, theories, models and techniques. These will help develop your systematic understanding and critical awareness of coaching and mentoring within the context of practice.<\/p>\n Students will gain an understanding of differing roles and forms of specific coaching\/mentoring intervention for the practitioner in the workplace. Through critical reflection you will secure a clearer understanding of challenges and dilemmas confronting coaches\/mentors. <\/span><\/p>\n The module will enable students to develop a broader understanding and critical awareness of the role of the coach\/mentor in the process of organisational development. You will explore topics such as:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n You will learn an appreciation of the range of diverse forces and inputs impacting on the development of a successful executive and business coaching\/mentoring career.<\/p>\n You will evaluate a range of personal development tools to support personal learning. Further, students will learn critical reflective perspective to appreciate and navigate a range of diverse forces in a coaching\/mentoring career. You will explore topics including:<\/p>\n The applied nature of the reflective assignment requires a critical evaluative and selective approach and the ability to reflect on the coachees\/clients\u2019 needs set within the dynamics of a working context.
