Join this PGC open programme to develop your coaching and mentoring ability and to gain an accredited qualification from Leeds Business School. The Postgraduate Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring for Leadership in Organisations will develop your coaching and mentoring skills, behaviours and knowledge. It is ideal for developing internal and external coaches, consultants and mentors.
What will this qualification achieve?
This programme will build internal coaching and mentoring organisational competence at any level of an organisation. However, it is equally applicable to anyone who wishes to work as an external coach, mentor or consultant within different organisations.
What are the costs and commitments?
This totally virtual open programme, begins on 16th March 2021 and is delivered by Professor Bob Garvey and Auriel Majumdar.
The course pauses during July and August for summer holidays and includes a break over Christmas and the New Year. Additional self study is required throughout and each module culminates in the submission of a 6000 word assignment.
The cost is £3900+VAT per person. Auriel and Bob will co-host each module’s kick-off, with other sessions shared and presented individually. Currently sessions are scheduled for 2pm UK time. However, by consensus, the regular time of sessions and particular sessions can be rearranged to suit changing circumstances. e.g. The group might agree a move to a UK morning slot if there are no delegates based in the Americas.
See the PGC Open 2021 schedule (revision 12th Feb).

How will the PGC benefit external coaches and mentors?
The concepts, theories, models and techniques will develop a systematic understanding and the skill of critical reflexivity. This will support participants to operate with total credibility from outside as well as inside an organisation.
In fact, it will give external coaches, mentors and consultants the unique selling point of understanding coaching and mentoring for organisation development. Crucially, something the majority of qualifications do not include, or only provide a superficial nod towards.
Will internal coaches and mentors benefit from this training?
This Postgraduate Certificate’s strength is its versatility in approach. Created with internal coaches, mentors and HR and L&D professionals in mind, but also relevant for those wanting to develop as external coaches, mentors and consultants. Individuals who want to study coaching and mentoring, but in addition broaden their knowledge and expertise to give them a more robust foundation as a consultant to develop their professional coaching and mentoring career.
What if I miss (or can’t make) a session?
The expectation is that delegates will attend all the sessions. However, in exceptional circumstances if it is absolutely essential to miss a session, it is the delegate’s responsibility to inform the course tutor in advance, or at the earliest opportunity of their absence.
All sessions are recorded so that participants can listen again. It is the delegate’s responsibility to catch up on the relevant material or learning inputs.
