A course for the independent-minded coach
From April 2027, follow the path trod by previous graduates who developed their skills with this postgraduate certificate in coaching and mentoring for leadership in organisations. We’ll start with the foundations, then help you build a practice model that feels authentic to who you are and the difference you want to make in the world.
Learn cutting-edge coaching and mentoring skills, processes and techniques from experts in the practical application of academic rigour. After the programme’s three modules, you will be a professional practitioner with your own unique signature coaching style, ready to use in your own area of knowledge.
Virtual learning and practical application to develop your confidence
Learn with fellow students from many domains. With real-play practice sessions, see how together you can apply new ideas to your circumstances. These breakout sessions take your real-world situations and use the power of coaching and mentoring to reveal ways to deal with challenges in your life or work.
As you build confidence, you will take a practical approach to learning new coaching and mentoring skills, processes and techniques. Your course will feature a diverse range of participants from different walks of life and with varied aspirations. Each member of your small community group will bring their insights and perspectives that you will find helpful, surprising and often inspiring.
Fast-track to EMCC Senior Practitioner
As well as a Master’s Level 7 qualification (with a route to full Master’s via a PG Diploma) from Leeds Beckett University, the Postgraduate Certificate has EMCC Global Quality Award EQA accreditation.
Your graduation unlocks discounted first-year EMCC membership, as well as fast-track access to Senior Practitioner EIA Individual Accreditation, providing another way to verify and demonstrate competency, also at a reduced fee.
What is my commitment to achieve this qualification?
There are three modules, each over three months beginning April 2027. Each module begins with two 3-hour sessions to build momentum and features two extended practice sessions, with other sessions each of 90-minutes. You should aim to attend all virtual sessions live from a location where you can interact fully with your camera on. You can access the university library online (as well as in person) and review session recordings and other resources on Leeds MyBeckett.
In addition to the 67.5 hours of contact with your tutors Auriel Majumdar, Paula Brennan, Stephanie Sturges and Lis Merrick, self-study, plus three 4000-word assignments (during summer, winter and spring recesses), complete your qualification. Your tutors will support your study, whilst remaining sympathetic to unexpected life challenges.
Your PGC course content and schedule
Your tutors will present the course in a very practical, coaching and mentoring way. They will be responsive to contemporary world events and will tailor sessions (all on Wednesdays at 1 pm UK time) to the particular needs of you and your fellow independent-minded participants. What is the cost of the PGC?
The cost is £4950+VAT per person. VAT is not payable for delegates outside of the UK. Applications are now open and operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
