Coaching and Mentoring Supervision: Join our taster session

Supervision discussionSupervision is not an optional extra for a serious coach or mentor. It is a regular, confidential space to reflect on and develop your practice, explore ethical questions and ensure you are looking after yourself as well as your clients. Come and find out how you can get the most out of supervision at a taster session.

Meet our supervisors

Supervision is only as good as the relationship, experience and psychological safety your supervisor brings to it. At Coach Mentoring Ltd. our supervision is supported by three experienced supervisors: Auriel Majumdar, Linda Grant and Helen Callis.

EMCC requirements for EIA coaches and mentors

If you hold, or are working towards, the EMCC Global Individual Accreditation (EIA), supervision is a core requirement. EMCC states that every EIA applicant must evidence continuing professional development, reflective learning and ongoing one-to-one supervision.

For EIA accreditation, EMCC Global requires a minimum of four hours of individual supervision per year, distributed evenly across the twelve months. For experienced practitioners, there is also a minimum ratio of one hour of supervision for every 35 hours of coaching or mentoring practice.

This is an important distinction: while group supervision is valuable for learning and support, EMCC’s EIA requirements specifically call for individual supervision. Group sessions can complement your supervision plan, but they do not automatically satisfy the individual supervision requirement.

An offering tailored to your needs

Coach Mentoring Ltd provides supervision, reflective practice and ethical support for coaches and mentors. Our offer is designed to be accessible, practical and carefully priced especially for our alumni and clients.

Small-group supervision

Our small-group supervision is deliberately limited to a maximum of four people, so everyone has meaningful airtime and the group remains psychologically safe.

  • £125 plus VAT for a two-hour group session
  • £500 plus VAT for four sessions two-hour group sessions across a year

Group supervision is an excellent way to build a regular reflective rhythm, learn from other practitioners, and receive support in a collegial setting.

Individual supervision

If you prefer dedicated one-to-one attention, we can arrange individual supervision.

  • £175 plus VAT for one hour

Individual supervision is particularly useful when you want to explore a complex client situation, prepare for accreditation, review your overall practice, or focus on your personal development as a coach or mentor.

Individual or group supervision?

Both formats offer valuable support, and many coaches and mentors benefit from a blend of the two.

Format What it offers Best suited to
Individual supervision Dedicated one-to-one time for deeper personal reflection, focused exploration of specific client issues and space to discuss sensitive or complex matters. Coaches/mentors who want privacy, concentrated attention, or support with particularly challenging work.
Small-group supervision A facilitated group where coaches/mentors share experience, receive different perspectives, learn from peers and build a sense of professional community. Coaches/mentors who value shared learning, accountability, community and a cost-effective way to supervise regularly.

Individual supervision creates room for a deeper exploration of your own responses, assumptions and development needs than is usually possible in a group.

Group supervision, by contrast, brings together coaches/mentors with different approaches and backgrounds. That diversity can broaden reflection, spark creativity and experimentation, increase accountability, and reduce the isolation that can sometimes accompany coaching work.

Many coaches/mentors invest in both types of supervision because of the different benefits they bring.

Why supervision matters?

Good coaching/mentoring depends not only on skills and models, but on the quality of the coach and mentor’s awareness, judgement and ethical thinking. Supervision helps you bring those dimensions into focus.

The benefits include:

  • New insight and learning
  • Stronger reflective practice
  • Quality assurance
  • Ethical support
  • Restoration and resilience
  • Professional community in group supervision.

In short, supervision helps you be proactive rather than reactive, use your personal and professional resources more effectively, and sustain a healthy, ethical practice over time.

Make supervision part of your practice

Whether you are an experienced coach, a mentor, an internal coach, or recently completed a Coach Mentoring Ltd. programme, regular supervision will help you protect the quality, integrity and sustainability of your coaching and mentoring work.
